Travelled the length and breadth of Scotland. Starting Point... The Percy's place at Barrhead, Glasgow.
Viewed the coastline at John O'Groats, the northern most tip of Scotland... not knowing I was looking at the Orkney Islands. The birthplace of my children's Great Grandfather, Davey Work from Walkerston, Mackay, Queensland. We, along with Ms. Jill Woods, travelled by car to Edinburgh. We then travelled the length and breadth of England by train.
Three weeks later we took off from London enroute to Amsterdam via Dover. One week into Holland we took to Eurorail through to Bergen, Norway, right through Europe to Brendisi in the south of Italy. Many wonderful stopoffs on the way.
Kalhem in Austria was a stop off, and has been ever since. The Pelser family have been wonderful hosts to me ever since. They do not speak English and I do not speak German. Introduced by the Vennemann family of Amsterdam, we all have had some wonderful trips all over Europe in the last 20 years.
One beautiful place I have always returned to is Bacarach on the Rhine River. I should be a citizen of the town. I am thinking about it... But running out of years and legs.
