THE LARGEST Underground Coal Mine in the Southern Hemisphere. That's how they described it. The mine, now renamed Kestrel. The Belt was designed by myself. I submitted the art of 2 men standing beside a header, with the load-out bin in the background. The load-out bin was built by our company, REB Engineering of Mackay, Queensland. The mine was situated close to the town of Emerald.
The Western australian belt Buckle makers sent back the belt buckle, nothing like the art. in fact it looked like it was carved out by a 12 year old kid. There were only 100 struck. I was given one for designing the buckle.
