103 YEARS OLD

The Mackay Bowls Club is one of the oldest in Queensland. 103 years to be exact.

The story goes that I was to design this Emblem and I was to fly over the Club in the

Mackay Tiger Moth. I had done the Signwriting on the Moth. The fee, 2 free flights in the plane. I was then going to take shots of the Mackay Bowls club from the air. GONNA.... That was a few years ago. I was not game to go up in the plane, even though they have a great reputation.

The celebrations went on without a hitch.

Most older Bowls Clubs are in the Metropolitan areas of Brisbane. They were real go-aheads here in Mackay in those days. They wanted to play Bowls.
