This is a sketch of a lioness from a beautiful picture used in a South African Calendar. I use Oil Pastel Pencils by Derwent. You will have trouble finding them. Derwent have them categorised under Drawing Pencils. They blend beautifully. I first started using them at least 12 years back. A friend of mine is an Art Teacher, Lori Cracknel, at Berkeley Sports and Recreation whatever. It was called Berkeley High School back when I was there years ago. They were using these pencils. The NSW Education Department decided to go elsewhere. Could not find them in Australia after that.
I found them on Vancouver Island in Canada. I purchased what I could. Next I encountered them in the Czech Republic. Again I gobbled up as many as I could.
Today they are easily obtained.
