Sydney Trams

I was young enough to remember the lovely old Sydney Trams. Years later in 1966, on my way to Mackay in Queensland, I came across the beautiful Brisbane trams. Sadly our politicians seem to have lost touch with the past and history.

On a visit to Sydney in 2009, I took a trip to Katoomba by train. There I came across the Brisbane Trolley Buses. The name plates on the interior mentioned a previous mayor of Brisbane, Sallynne Atkinson, who happened to work at the Courier Mail in the mid sixties. It was here that I applied at the newspaper, for a job as a linotype operator, before obtaining a job interview with the late Jack Manning, owner of the Mackay Daily Mercury. I took the Mackay job. Where I remain today.
