The World Eleven...

This photo was taken on the "Hill" at the Sydney Cricket Ground in the early seventies.

The great Sir Garfield Sobers was playing his last game.

I had a camera with a telephoto lens. This was before the reflex lenses became cheaper to buy.

I had a shot of Sir Garfield running in bowling medium pacers.

The trouble was it was a black and white shot.

All you could make out was a figure in whites running in to bowl.

being a blackman, it was a hit and miss effort to get a close up shot from a distance.

There are some great cricketers on the scoreboard, playing in both sides.
