"Cleo" ISSUE

Late Brother Robert Deegan and Paul Graham.  Paul was well known for his feats of strength.  Carrying a horse in a sling up a ladder, holding the harness round his neck.  The film clip was on an American TV show. "That's Incredible"...    Unsuccessfully wrestling a crocodile. Dragging vehicles with a rope around his neck. He was a top bodybuilder in Australia and a promoter
ofsport back in the seventies.
The gym shot is one of a photo-shoot from the second issue of "Cleo". The article was of Paul and his feats.  This was just before Bob started to make a name for himself.  Paul Graham is seen here with Big Arnie.  Paul was instrumentalingetting him to visit Australia.
Arnold acted as judge for a number of State Titles while  he was here.
One Title  he judged was won by Bob. (He won many). The Mr. Victoria Competition.  Arnold paid for my father to travel from Wollongong to Melbourne to watch my brother compete.   Dad was full of praise for the big man.  Schwarzeneggar was very comfortable with older people.  (Dad was a sailor and spent a lot of time dodging U-Boats in convoys in the South Atlantic.. So he  must have impressed him immeasurably).  Arnold
arranged for Bob to meet him in the States.  Unfortunately Bob made a wrong decision in the States, choosing an Australian Gold Coast promoter over Arnold to enhance his career. Not before he was featured on the cover and centrepage spread of 1973 April issue of Muscular Development.  (Check it on google).

In July  (July 9) of 1987 my girlfriend and I were visiting Hollywood on a holiday and was present on the day that Arnold Swarzeneggar was introduced to the Graumen's Chinese Theatre, where they inplant their hands and feet in the pavement.  At that time  I was not familiar with my brothers friendship with Arnold.   I took photos of  the event, until it was spoilt by the LA police announcing that there were pickpockets in the crowd.  I will publish the hollywood photo when I find it.
