This sketch of Lassie was originally done in the now defunct Leichhardt Hotel in Mackay.

Well known hotel for the fact that the largest crocodile ever shot, was from the ver-

andah of the hotel in 1930.  I  have seen photos of the monster. Sadly nobody thought to measure it and 

report to the necessary authorities.  It measured  33  feet. 

The hotel always  has used the crocodile  as its motiff.  The sketch 

was done without him sitting there wearing his glasses.  Nobody knew who it was.  Seems nobody has ever seen him without  his glasses.  The glasses were drawn later.
