How  many people like me have budgetted for Telstra's ADSL Broadband at $60 per month and have to put up with sub-standard reproduction of streaming in your favourite music.   

Never seem to be able to listen to music without short stops continually throughout the song.

I have been  using internet for nearly 10 years and back then on dial up system the problem was the same. Downloads then were a nightmare.

At present I have a credit with the company.  They found it easier to give me a massive credit rather than figure out the ineptitude of their billing system,

I visit friends and they have cheaper versions of broadband and get fantastic loading speed.

I guess the almighty dollar comes first before service quality here in Oz.

I have used broadband all over the world, especially in the Netherlands. I have lived there off and on for months at a time over the last 10 years and believe me, forget what Telstra spin doctors tell you, our system stinks.
