I had this shot taken outside the 7 Studios after the Sunrise show had finished in 2005. Koschie introduced me to a young fellow that was moving to Mackay in Queensland from Victoria. I asked if he had place to stay. The answer was no. Way back then we had accommodation shortages here in Mackay. I advised him to find a place before he moved. Right now I think the situation is extremely worse. I worked at all Bowen Basin mines in Mackay and back in late 80's the mines had their own quarters, for some unknown reason, or known only to them... they began demolishing the demountables. Today I believe they are shipping them back. I heard one man mention on the Macca's "Australia Al Over" Sunday radio show, report in that he was driving a load of buildings up from South Australia to Saraji here in Central Queensland.

MACKAY ACCOMMODATION
