The Mackay Marina

Taken from the Clarion Hotel, Mackay Harbour, Queensland, Australia. In the background are many, and I say many, coal ships (giant colliers). The Port of Haypoint/Dalrymple Bay can be seen, between the 2 islands. There has been, at any one time 50 to 75 ships lying for miles out to sea.. awaiting their loads of Bowen Basin coal for the China, Japan, Korea, India and others. The haze and the quality of my camera does not show the scene to the fullest. You can make out a few ships distantly. It is the biggest port of its kind in the world. That is not an idle boast.. it is fact.

The Aftermath of Dust Storm in Oz

Two thousand k's plus from Sydney, here in Mackay and we get the dust storm remnants. Not as bad, but noticeable.  Made a great sunrise.  Should have had my nephew back here in Mackay from Wollongong. He grew up here.  His photos of the Wollongong coastline and attractions are something to see.  Facebook.. Keiran O'Connor.

Cousin Prime Minister

This is an article on my Dad's cousin, Rex Connor. He was the guy that Whitlam shafted on the Kemlani Affair, trying to borrow $4 billion. Within the next 5 years the Frazer Liberal party borrowed the same in amount in 2 installments. They borrowed from the proper sources. It proved the money was needed.
This article was on front page of the Illawarra Daily Mercury. It was left out of their Special...Memorable Front Page Headlines. Left out ... We wonder why?
The big fella believed in "Buy Back the Farm." Dad always said he was a controversial figure... but he was no mug.

The Dutch Spaceman

We were sitting having a coffee in a little street in Amsterdam... when this guy appeared.

Strongman Paul Graham

This is Crocodile Dundee, Paul Hogan with Strongman and Bodybuilder, Paul Graham from Sydney. He appeared on ''That's Incredible." American TV Show in the 70's. He carried a horse in a sling up a ladder suspended from his teeth. He and my brother, Robert had a stage act blowing up Hot Water Bottles like balloons with their mouths.
